What are the benefits of cold plunging?

No , our ice baths do not need ice. They are delivered set up
with a Wifi enabled thermostat that controls and maintains the
temp you desire.

Do I need to add ice?

Based on 1 person using their ice bath once a day , you will be
required to change the water every 2- 3 weeks. We advise not
plunging if you have creams or oils as this will speed up the
requirement to do a water change

How often should I change the water?

Arctic ape Ice Baths are manufactured with high quality materials but are not intended to be outside in the rain. They are more than fine to be outside in a covered area. Should you wish to use your ice bath outside that will be in directly line of rain, a waterproof cover can be purchased from us as an additional item

Do I need to store my ice bath inside or outside?

Your height and weight will determine how full you need to
keep your ice bath to be sable to fully submerge up till your neck
however based on an average person, you will need to fill your
unit to just over half way. This equates to about 260Ltrs of water

How much water does my ice bath need?

We have had a 6’3” plunger comfortably fit into one of our ice baths

Will I fit in the ice bath?

Your ice bath can be set to whatever temperature you would
like however we do not recommend keeping it lower than 1 degree. NB : Arctic Ape cannot be held liable for any medical conditions that arise from using your ice bath. It is imperative to consult a medical practitioner prior to utilising our ice baths )

How cold can my ice bath get?

On the day your ice bath is delivered, we recommend filling it with 10 bags of ice to help speed up the cooling process. Water coming out of a garden hose is generally around 20-23 degrees and your unit will cool to around 9 degrees within the first hour. After that it will cool roughly 1 degree every 2 hours (depending on the temperature at the time)

How long does it take to get cold?

You will need to change the water filter every 6 months +- (based on usage of 1 person plunging once a day)

Do I need to change the water filter?

When you purchase one of our ice baths , you will be supplied with a mini float and +- 6 months worth of Bromine tablets. Bromine is an alternative used in indoor pools, spa and jacuzzi baths and is far less intrusive than Chlorine. Bromine breaks down in water a lot slower than other forms of chemicals used in pools etc and is far more effective in this environment.

Using Bromine tablets as directed has shown to maintain the water cleanliness by up to as much as 60%

Will using chemicals help to keep the waster cleaner for longer?

Bromine tablets being used in ice baths, indoor pools and Jacuzzi spas have no side effects on the general population however please consult a doctor prior to using the provided bromine tablets if you are unsure if you may have any side effects or reactions.

Are Bromine tablets definitely safe for me to use in my ice bath?

Your Arctic Ice Bath will carry a 3yr warranty on all workmanship. The unit itself carries a 1 year warranty however Arctic Ape will always endeavor to resolve any unlikely issues that may arise

What is the warranty on my ice bath?

Full payment is required prior to your order being processed. For any corporate enquiries of 3 or more orders, please contact us directly to discuss payment terms if necessary

What are your payment terms?

All deliveries within the greater JHB area are free of charge. Should you wish to have your Ice Bath delivered outside of Jhb, we are gladly able to arrange a quote for delivery. You are also welcome to collect from our factory directly.

Do you offer nation wide shipping?

From the date payment reflect in our account, we will deliver
your new Ice Bath within 5 working days.

How long would it take from order to delivery?

While there is a huge amount of information available that all points to ice bathing and cold water immersion being safe and beneficial, we are not medical practitioners and therefore will not advise if an induvidual should ice bath. If you have any concerns we strongly suggest consulting with a medical professional prior to any cold water immersion to confirm that you have no underlying medical conditions that may be affected by cold water immersion.
